Samsung has expanded its Certified Re-Newed (CRN) program to include the Galaxy S25 series smartphones across three European countries: the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. This move follows the program's initial launch in the United States back in August.
In the UK and Germany, these refurbished devices are marketed under the name "Certified Re-Newed," whereas in France, they are referred to as "Refurbished Premium By Samsung," or "Reconditionné Premium par Samsung." Despite the different naming conventions, the quality and offerings remain consistent across all markets.
A quick visit to their official links reveals a variety of models available, though it's worth noting that the availability of certain storage configurations may vary. Currently, it appears that the Galaxy S25 Edge and the Fan Edition (FE) models are not included in this refurbishment program, likely due to their later release dates.
Here’s a brief overview of what's on offer in each country:
Galaxy S25
- In the UK, options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, with prices starting at approximately £719.99 (£1,153 for 512GB).
- In Germany, the 512GB version is priced at €860.
- The French market offers a 256GB unit for about €800.
Galaxy S25+
- The UK offers both 256GB and 512GB variants, starting at £999.99 for 256GB.
- In Germany, the 512GB model is priced at €1,040.
- French consumers can purchase the 256GB version for around €1,000.
Galaxy S25 Ultra
- The UK price for the 512GB model is £1,153, while Germany lists the 256GB variant at €1,240.
- In France, the same 256GB model is slightly more expensive at €1,250.
Only the highest quality returned units qualify for the CRN program. Each device undergoes an extensive cleaning process and must pass over 100 rigorous quality checks. If any repairs are necessary, only authentic Samsung parts are utilized, including a brand-new certified battery when needed. Furthermore, each refurbished phone comes equipped with the latest software and new IMEI numbers, ensuring they function like new devices.
The refurbishments also come in eco-friendly packaging made from recyclable materials. Consumers will find the same in-box accessories as a new phone, typically including just a USB-C cable and a SIM ejector tool.
Notably, Samsung provides a warranty for these Certified Re-Newed phones comparable to that offered on new devices, distinguishing its program from third-party refurbishment options.
For those seeking additional support, Samsung Care+ is available. This service includes a free battery replacement if the battery's health drops below 80% and additional coverage against theft. For further details about Samsung Care+, interested individuals can check out the program's dedicated webpage.
Jun Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of the Galaxy Value Innovation Team at Samsung Electronics, expressed enthusiasm over this expansion, stating, "We’re excited to expand our Certified Re-Newed program in European markets to provide customers with more options for purchasing flagship devices. While contributing to the circular economy, we hope more customers can experience our latest innovations, including Galaxy AI."
It’s important to mention that while Samsung's US branch also offers Galaxy Z devices as part of its CRN initiative, such as the Z Flip6 and Z Fold6, these models are currently unavailable in Europe.
