Ravens guard Ben Cleveland has been handed a three-game ban by the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. The NFL announced that Cleveland will miss three consecutive games without pay due to the incident in February when he was arrested for DUI in Georgia.
During his absence, Cleveland will sit out matchups with the Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, and Green Bay Packers. He will be eligible to return for the Ravens’ regular-season finale versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. With a base salary of $1.17 million, Cleveland will forfeit three game checks, totaling roughly $194,000.
Cleveland, 27, has been with Baltimore since being selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft. This season, he has appeared in 10 games without starting any, and he is slated to become a free agent in March.
