A foot injury ended Chidobe Awuzie’s day in Cincinnati as the Ravens shut out the Bengals 24-0. Awuzie was sidelined late in the third quarter after what Head Coach John Harbaugh described as him getting “caught up in that netting down there in the end zone somehow.”
Harbaugh indicated that further information would come after additional testing tomorrow to determine the severity of the injury.
Despite the setback, Awuzie has been one of Baltimore’s standout defenders this season, recording 35 tackles and seven passes defended. He has started in five of 11 games and logged 64% of the defensive snaps.
This season marks a resurgence for Awuzie, who joined the Ravens on a one-year contract. He currently holds the fourth-highest grade among NFL cornerbacks with at least half of the defensive snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
